Maestro Gui Tavares, who is the group's Conductor, Music Director and the arranger of many of the songs performed, leads the choir. He has fouded Nossa Voz in 2004.

Gui is a music graduate from UNICAMP (University of Campinas, Sao Paulo - Brazil) In his work, Gui combines a classical musical training with a deep love and knowledge of Brazilian Popular Music.

He has also worked extensively with theatre groups, and has worked as the music director on many shows, including "Brazil 500 anos", the show commemorating 500 years of the Discovery of Brazil, which was sponsored by Rio de Janeiro's Town Hall, in 2000.

Gui has conducted and made arrangements for successful choirs in Brazil for many years and has accompanied many famous Brazilians musicians.

Gui has also worked with musical projects for drug dependant children in poor communities in Rio de Janeiro.

Gui has recorded many CDs with his own work as a performer and composer, the last one being called "Amigos and Friends", release in 2004.

Being base in London since 2003, Gui teaches guitar and singing and performs regularly in many venues in the capital.
